ZIP LINING EXCURSION

If adventure excites you, joins us for an incredible tour of 5 zip lines + 7 waterfalls. A 30-minute hike through the Rainforest takes us to the first zip line, where the real fun begins. Enjoy the adrenaline rush of 5 zip lines over waterfalls, tropical jungle, and spectacular views, plus 2 rope bridges to descend to the seventh waterfall. Here, we start cascading down as you slide, jump, and swim through amazing waterfalls, natural river pools, and spectacular canyons. On the way back to the base camp, we will enjoy a delicious Dominican lunch (vegetarian-friendly), water, and then head back to the transportation to take you back to the resort.

FOUR WHEEL / ATV’S
Friday & Sunday MDG Group Excursion Departure Times 10AM & 2PM
“Four Wheel” in Puerto Plata is an off-road ATV adventure that explores the Dominican countryside and coast, including the opportunity to drive on dirt roads, wade through puddles, visit a local village, learn about tobacco production, and enjoy the beach. It’s an exciting activity for those looking to get a little dirty and experience the natural beauty and local culture in a unique way.
● Off-road Adventure: Drive on dirt roads through rural farmland and fields, kicking up dust and navigating through puddles and mud.
● Local Culture: Visit a local village and a tobacco hut to learn about the cigar-making process and sample organic coffee and hot chocolate.
● Beaches and Nature: Arrive at a local beach or Maimón Beach, where swimming is possible. Duration and Experience Level
● Experience: The tour typically lasts around 3 hours and is suitable even for beginners, as equipment and necessary safety instruction are provided.

About the course:
Designed by legendary golf course architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr., the 18-hole course offers five holes with sea-views, including one directly adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean. Relatively flat, it is known for its outstanding conditioning: greens are generous, featuring water hazards and strategically placed bunkers to spice things up. An ideal vacation resort course that can be enjoyed by golfers of all skill levels, yet one that still offers challenges.

We have the opportunity for you! Visit Dove Youth Development Center. A trip serving with DOVE makes a difference in the lives of children, while providing the opportunity to truly embrace and understand a new culture. The mission has always remained the same–to provide opportunity and hope to at-risk children.
Dove Youth Development (formerly Dove Missions) is a center that offers children different programs and classes in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. They serve 140-160 children between the ages of 6-18 living in seven barrios (neighborhoods) in the poorest parts of Puerto Plata. They provide after-school opportunities for the youth and their families. Youth can learn in engaging ways and share positive experiences within a safe haven at Dove Youth Development Center.
Whether you are by yourself or with a group, Dove Youth Development would love to have you!
Without the help of this program, many of these children, as young as six, would be forced into prostitution, drug dealing, or other illegal activities in order to help financially support their families. Here at Dove Youth Development, we empower our youth to be beacons of light and carriers of change for themselves, and also for their communities. Help become a part of that change.
As a volunteer, you will experience the culture in a safe, positive environment while learning about the area and all that Puerto Plata has to offer. Every hug and smile from our children and their families will illustrate the Dominican happiness! The children benefit by having people help improve their English skills while feeling the love you bring by volunteering. Having mentors who care is important for every child.
Here is what a day with us looks like:

Pick up at any local hotel or accommodation in Puerto Plata by the staff.

You will help work with the kids on their daily lessons, led by teachers. The students usually work on English to go with the monthly theme to foster self-esteem, cooperation, respect, responsibility, goal setting, and leadership skills.

A visit to the local barrio (neighborhood) to immerse yourself in the Dominican culture and see where our children live.

In the afternoon, you will work with our afternoon children’s classes and programs.
